Dear Friends,

 

I promised to keep you posted on our progress to raise “Foot Money” for Emmanuel Quee. 

 

With your prayers and the generosity of many people, at my last report, we were well over half way to our goal.  After taking a special offering Sunday morning at Victorious Faith Ministries, we were up to $1,975.  VFM chipped in the final $25 and another $124  to cover the Western Union transfer fees. 

 

On Tuesday evening (11/06/07) we wired $2,000 to Pastor Andrew in Monrovia.  I called him the next morning and told him the funds were waiting for him.  (Communication in Liberia is so poor, it took me five attempts to get through.)  He was very blessed and grateful that the need had been met so quickly and completely...providing even more than he had estimated would be needed.  He wanted me to be sure and thank each of you for your prayers and giving.  Emmanuel and his adult caregiver will be leaving for Freetown, Sierra Leone soon – if they haven’t left already.

 

Pastor Andrew encouraged us to continue to pray for Emmanuel’s journey and surgery, for save travel, for the surgeons and health care workers, for Emmanuel’s quick recovery.   He also asked that we continue to pray for him and the Refuge Home.  He mentioned rice is still very expensive, with no relief in sight.
